Nokia N800 reviews
User review
Impressive Internet Tablet
Strengths: Long battery life, crisp display, free open-source applications, relatively fast performance, Wifi and Bluetooth built-in, memory expandable to 4GB (potentially more), lightweight.
Weaknesses: Poorly designed carrying pouch included, VGA-only camera, can be easier to use (Linux OS).
Summary: I've read numerous reviews of the Nokia N800 and decided to finally take the plunge recently and purchased one for myself. The device is solidly built, has a metal casing front and back, and has a nice heft to it when you hold in your hands. The angular stylus is not very comfortable but nonetheless adequate. The Opera browser performs fairly quickly, and renders most web pages as faithfully as they would appear on a normal desktop browser. The only problem is that the resolution is so fine on the N800's LCD that you will find yourself zooming in and out frequently to actually read the text. The unit includes an FM stereo tuner, headphones, and can playback numerous audio/video formats using the media player or mplayer, which can be downloaded for free separately. All in all, its a handy and useful little device for web browsing and accessing a small but growing library of open-source applets in a non-Windows Mobile, non-Palm OS device.
Review: The Nokia N800 Internet Tablet - OSNews.com
The N800 is an evolutionary step above the older model, the N770. It features a (rumored, faster 320 Mhz ) TI CPU, two SD slots, 128 MB RAM, 256 MB flash storage, 4.1" 800x480 touchscreen, WiFi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphones jack and mini-USB port. On the top of the device you will find the zoom buttons, the fullscreen on/off button and the microphone while on the front of the device there is a 5-way joypad and 3 additional buttons: close application/window, application's menu and task-switch. On the left side there is a retractable VGA video-call camera. Below the device you will find a very practical kickstand, which is very nice if you are using your N800 to watch movies.
Nokia N800 Internet Tablet First Thoughts Review - Brighthand.com
This week, Nokia announced the N800, its second generation Internet Tablet. I was able to put this brand new device through its paces at the Consumer Electronics Show.
My first impressions are fairly positive. It has some nice new features not included in its predecessor, the Nokia 770, like a built-in web camera, dual memory card slots, stereo speakers, and a stand.

The return of the Internet Tablet - Ars Technica
Many a geek was excited when Nokia announced the Nokia 770 Internet Tablet in late 2005. Its form factor, functionality, and price indicated to me that my dream device had arrived. When I finally purchased one and reviewed it, my dreams were dashed. While attractive, the Nokia 770 was underpowered, leading to sluggish performance. The menu navigation was not thought out well, and some of the applications felt unfinished.
Nokia released an OS update—Internet Tablet OS 2006—in mid-2006 that addressed some of the 770's problems while adding a new on-screen thumb keyboard. Unfortunately, no amount of code optimization was able to cover up the slow CPU and meager RAM.
With little advance notice, Nokia released the 770's successor at the beginning of 2007, the Nokia N800. Is it powerful enough to rekindle the fires of gadget lust or will it be another heartbreaker?
